This Privacy Policy describes how SnapCraft – Screenshot & Editor ("the Extension") handles information when you use it. SnapCraft is a Chrome browser extension that allows you to capture screenshots of web pages and annotate them using a built-in editor.
SnapCraft does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
- Personally identifiable information (name, email, address, age)
- Screenshots, images, or any content you capture or annotate
- Browsing history or the URLs of pages you visit
- Mouse clicks, keystrokes, or any user activity logs
- IP address or location data
- Authentication credentials or passwords
- Financial or payment information
- Health or personal communications data
All of SnapCraft's functionality runs entirely within your browser:
- Screenshots are captured using Chrome's built-in
captureVisibleTabAPI and held temporarily in the extension's service worker memory only — never written to disk or sent to a server. - Full-page capture scrolls the page locally and stitches tiles in memory using an
OffscreenCanvas. Nothing leaves your browser. - Annotations are drawn on a local HTML5 Canvas element inside the editor tab.
- Saving uses Chrome's Downloads API to write the file directly to your computer. No upload occurs.
- Clipboard copy uses the browser's Clipboard API — the image goes to your local clipboard only.
SnapCraft requests the following Chrome permissions solely to provide its core functionality:

| tabs | Identify the active tab's window and open the editor tab after capture. |
| scripting | Inject the area-selection overlay and scroll the page for full-page capture. |
| storage | Temporarily hold screenshot data as a local backup in case the service worker restarts. Cleared immediately after the editor retrieves it. |
| unlimitedStorage | Prevent Chrome's default 5 MB quota from being exceeded when capturing large or high-DPI full-page screenshots. No data is stored permanently. |
| downloads | Save the annotated screenshot as a PNG or JPEG to your local computer. |
| clipboardWrite | Copy the annotated screenshot image to your clipboard when you click Copy. |
| host permissions | Allow the area-selection overlay and full-page scroll scripts to run on any website you choose to screenshot. No page content is read or transmitted. |
SnapCraft does not integrate with, send data to, or rely on any third-party analytics services, advertising networks, cloud storage providers, or external APIs. There are no trackers, no SDKs, and no remote endpoints of any kind embedded in the extension.
SnapCraft does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since the extension collects no data at all, it presents no privacy risk to users of any age.
If we ever update this Privacy Policy, the revised version will be published at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Since SnapCraft currently collects no data, any meaningful change would only occur if new features requiring data collection were added — and we would notify users prominently before doing so.
